China and its major trading partners have maintained a growth momentum in foreign trade import and export, and regional cooperation is close.
CCTV News:Statistics released by the General Administration of Customs today (July 13th) show that in the first half of this year, the import and export of China’s foreign trade with its major trading partners maintained a growth momentum. During the same period, the import and export of China, countries along the Belt and Road and RCEP member countries increased by 17.8% and 5.6% respectively, and the international market layout continued to be optimized.
At present, it is the season of planting ginseng in Northeast China. Due to superior natural conditions, Jilin Province has become the main ginseng producing area in the world. At present, 70% of the global ginseng trading volume is reached here.
Sun Baopeng, Manager of Tonghua Baiquan Shenye Co., Ltd.:We have received more than 50 million yuan in export orders this year, an increase of 10% over the same period last year. The exporting countries were mainly Japan and South Korea, and now they have expanded to eight countries along the Belt and Road, including Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Since the beginning of this year, the export of ginseng in Jilin Province has increased by over 40% year-on-year, and it has become an emerging product exported by Jilin Province to countries along the Belt and Road. At the same time, Jilin Province has continuously tapped the potential of foreign trade, made great efforts to promote the deep processing of products, and actively built an industrial base for aquatic products and wood products by using the policy of comprehensive insurance zones, greatly increasing the added value of products and stimulating exports.
Zhang Jun, Deputy Commissioner of Changchun Customs:Since the beginning of this year, Jilin’s exports to countries along the "Belt and Road" have increased by over 30%, accounting for more than 30% of Jilin’s total foreign trade exports in the same period. Among them, the exports of mechanical and electrical products, aquatic products and textiles have increased year by year, becoming hot-selling products exported to countries along the Belt and Road.
In the workshop of a leading furniture enterprise in Nankang District, Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, workers are rushing to make a batch of orders for export to the United States. Nankang is the largest solid wood furniture production base in China. At present, there are nearly 500,000 furniture employees and more than 7,000 furniture enterprises.
Shen Fei, Chairman of a Furniture Enterprise in Nankang District, Ganzhou:This year, our foreign trade orders are very hot. So far, we have completed 75% of last year’s trade share, and our sales ratio of foreign trade has exceeded 60%.
In order to facilitate the "going out" of furniture products, Ganzhou launched a new trade model of "China-Europe train+cross-border e-commerce" and "cross-border e-commerce+rail-sea combined transport" to promote the accelerated integration of cross-border e-commerce and Ganzhou home furnishing industry. Since the beginning of this year, Ganzhou furniture has made outstanding achievements in foreign trade export, especially in RCEP member countries. 1— In June, Ganzhou’s import and export to RCEP trading partners exceeded 12 billion yuan, an increase of over 80% year-on-year.
Zhao Jiamin, Deputy Director of Ganzhou Customs Office:In the first half of this year, Ganzhou Customs promoted preferential policies such as self-service printing of RCEP origin and approved exporters, and issued a total of 163 RCEP certificates with a value of 150 million yuan, and enterprises enjoyed a tariff reduction of 7.5 million yuan.
Customs statistics show that in the first half of this year, China’s imports and exports to ASEAN, the European Union and the United States were 2.95 trillion yuan, 2.71 trillion yuan and 2.47 trillion yuan respectively, up by 10.6%, 7.5% and 11.7% respectively. ASEAN continues to be China’s largest trading partner, accounting for 14.9% of China’s total foreign trade.
In the same period, China’s import and export with countries along the Belt and Road totaled 6.31 trillion yuan, up 17.8% year-on-year, accounting for 31.9% of China’s total foreign trade import and export value. The total import and export of China and other 14 member countries of RCEP was 6.04 trillion yuan, up 5.6% year-on-year, accounting for 30.5% of China’s total foreign trade import and export value.
