It is said that Google Play will enter China, and Android users have finally come out.
In 2010, Google officially announced its departure from the China market. It has been six years since then. During these six years, Google’s powerful search service has been cherished by countless people, but some people think that Google’s position has actually disappeared in the Internet market in China. Indeed, if Google returns to the Internet market in China now, its position will be very embarrassing, but everyone has forgotten how strongly there is a demand for Google: Android mobile phone users.
Because of Google’s withdrawal from the China market and some "objective factors", Google Services Framework (hereinafter referred to as Google Framework) has been excluded from Android phones in China market, so Google services including Google Maps, Google Now, Gmail and Play Store cannot be used on domestic manufacturers’ mobile phones.
Without the Google framework, none of Google’s services can be used normally.
Today, however, it is reported that Google will return to China. The Information, an authoritative American science and technology media, said that Google is discussing joint venture with Netease to bypass some thorny issues, so that Google Play Store can enter the China market in some way. Although similar news came to nothing every time before, the name Play Store can still touch the hearts of many mobile phone users again and again, because the lack of Google framework for mobile phones of the Bank of China has really caused them great trouble.
I believe many people don’t understand the relationship between services and applications such as Google Framework and Play Store, so let’s introduce them in simple and easy-to-understand language. I believe everyone is familiar with applications such as Play Store, Gmail, Google Maps and Google Calendar. Even though these applications are no longer available on our mobile phones, many people have heard about them. These applications under Google are collectively called GApps, and their operation depends on one thing — — Google framework, Google framework is like a foundation, with which GApps can run normally.
GApps
However, many people have never used many GApps because they need "scientific internet access", but don’t think that Google framework has nothing to do with you. A considerable number of them need paid applications and large-scale games, and they also need to be verified by Google Play Store. The functions such as payment channels and the preservation of game progress are also realized through the Play Store. Therefore, there are many softwares and games on the Android phone of the Bank of China that can’t be used normally, such as the well-known filter software VSCO.
Not only GApps, but also many third-party applications need Google framework.
And now there is a saying circulating on the Internet that an Android phone without Google service is not a real Android. Although there are substitutes for Gmail, Google Maps and other software, if users use the full set of Google services, the synchronization of information such as emails, contacts, schedules, photos, music libraries, application purchase and installation records can be completed together, and the convenience of changing machines and cloud services is comparable to that of iOS. Compared with the various synchronization assistants that people use now, it is simply raping the user experience.
Google’s full cloud service experience is no less than iCloud.
Therefore, whether it is just needed or from the perspective of pursuing a higher user experience, Google framework is very necessary for Android users. Whether there is a Google service framework or not has a world-changing impact on the experience. Unfortunately, no matter what brand of mobile phones are now, Google framework has been eliminated. To use mobile phones with built-in Google framework and various services, we have to buy parallel imports.
However, many manufacturers are now trying to "save the country by curve". Google service framework is quietly built into Huawei’s mobile phone. One plus, Hammer, Meizu and other manufacturers can find the Google framework that conforms to the mobile phone version in the application store that comes with the mobile phone and install the full set of GApps by themselves. However, users of other manufacturers are not so lucky. Even if they find the APK installation software of Google service, they can’t use it because the version and system don’t match, so they must brush in the corresponding Recovery. Friends who need it can search the tutorial by themselves.
First-class manufacturers have a curve to save the country.
So back to the original question, Google hopes to cooperate with Netease to return the Play Store to China. How will they return? What impact will it bring?
First of all, we can basically be sure that the introduction of the domestic Play Store is probably not the foreign Play Store, and there should be a separate domestic server or the content will be deleted. Everyone knows the reasons. However, we are not concerned about the Play Store itself, but that if the Play Store wants to enter the China market, Google Framework will naturally follow, because the Play Store must have Google Framework to run normally, which is what Android users are eagerly looking forward to.
Play Store’s return to China is just a pathfinder.
If Google and Netease successfully cooperate to introduce the Play Store into China, it is necessary to build a Google framework into the mobile phone of the Bank of China, or provide the Google framework installation package corresponding to the user’s model when downloading the Play Store. Either way, it will be a very difficult and huge project. But if Google wants to fully return to the China market, these tasks will be done sooner or later. So once this news comes true, how Google will deal with this issue will be the key point of our concern.
Once the Play Store has successfully entered the mobile phone of the Bank of China, with the blessing of Google’s framework, Google will be able to move its services back to the China market in an orderly manner. Therefore, it is very short-sighted for many media to say that there is no Play Store in the domestic app store market and that Google’s return to the China market is a death. Play Store returned to China not to compete with various app stores, but just for Google’s full service to return to China as a pathfinder. At that time, after users feel the excellent experience of GApps, a large number of Android users in China will undoubtedly be a gold mine for Google.
