On April 24, 2021, the China Light Industry Federation held in Beijing the "Research and Industrialization of Key Technologies of New High-efficiency Inverter Compressors", "Research and Application of Rotor Compressor Differential Pressure Start-up Technology" completed by Guangdong Meizhi Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd., and the "Research and Industrialization of Key Technologies of New Generation Inverter Motor System for Home Appliances" completed by Guangdong Weiling Motor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
The results of these three projects were reported by the project, consulted, evaluated, and inspected by the appraisal committee composed of experts and professors from seven well-known universities and authoritative research institutions. They were all unanimously recognized by the appraisal committee and passed the international leading appraisal.

With innovation as the engine, with breakthroughs as the focus
At the meeting, Xu Fei, the project owner of Midea’s electromechanical business group, introduced "key technology research and industrialization of new high-efficiency inverter compressors": The entire project covers 108 patents, and has made major technological breakthroughs in the three aspects of high-efficiency key technical elements of rotary compressors: motor and its control system, magnetoelectric loss balancing and low friction and low leakage. In fact, the technical project was established in 2018. During the period, it experienced three years of rigorous and meticulous technical research, technical research, product design and review, technical review and appraisal, prototype test, pilot run, market coverage and other rounds of procedures. Finally, it successfully solved technical problems through system-level high-efficiency design methods and innovative electromagnetic structures, and was mass-produced in July last year.

In addition, at the review site, Gao Bin, the project owner of "Research and Application of Rotor Compressor Differential Pressure Start-up Technology", said that the previous rotor compressor did not have differential pressure start-up technology and could not directly replace the scroll compressor. After in-depth research and verification, the R & D team developed a mechanical structure scheme that works completely automatically. The product has a compact structure, high reliability, no system control, better convenience and compatibility, and the refrigeration system using the product also has the advantages of high efficiency and high comfort, with good energy saving and emission reduction benefits. After process inquiry, the appraisal committee recognized the R & D team for breaking through the patent blockade through technological innovation and achieving the breakthrough of differential pressure start technology through the technical barrier of "stuck neck".

The technological breakthrough and energy efficiency leap are also achieved in the technical project "Research and Industrialization of Key Technologies of a New Generation of Inverter Motor Systems for Home Appliances". The R & D team optimized the motor according to the requirements of the new national energy efficiency standards, and developed the "Key Technologies of a New Generation of Inverter Motor Systems for Home Appliances". Under the requirements of ensuring higher performance and higher reliability, the volume is reduced by 30% compared with the existing motors in the industry, and the high, medium and low frequency full-band noise is effectively reduced. Wu Di, project owner of Midea’s electromechanical business group, introduced that "it has a major breakthrough and innovation in the rotor structure, omitting the original need for dynamic balance correction and glue curing process". This is the first company in the world to use a magnet embedded rotor structure variable frequency motor in the field of household air conditioning fans, and the technology has applied for 62 patents, including 44 domestic and international invention patents.

Upgrade and empower the global industrial ecosystem
Technological innovation and breakthroughs are one of the important factors for the rapid development of enterprises, industries, and even countries, and technological innovation and breakthroughs must also be centered on users, industries, markets, and countries.

The industry needs to catalyze technological transformation and upgrading, Midea’s electromechanical business group integrates more than ten R & D and testing center resources around the world, expands the scientific research backbone of the R & D team, and fully converts the value of more than 4,000 patent achievements: the new high-efficiency inverter compressor key technology implementation single COP increased by 10.8%, the system APF jumped by 6.8%, and the noise value was below 66dB (A); the rotor compressor pressure difference start-up technology implementation double-sided double pressure holding effect, the system SEER increased by 10.8%, and expanded the rotor compressor function and application field; the key technology of the new generation of inverter motor system for home appliances promotes the full frequency conversion of home appliances, energy saving and emission reduction, green and low carbon. In addition to the field of air conditioning and refrigeration, these three project technologies also have strong scalability, which can be expanded and applied in various fields such as heat pumps, dehumidifiers, and clothes dryers, etc., which is of great significance to the global low-carbon technology.
