Professor Bian Yuhong： Bazi Bushen activates stem cells to improve skin aging and bone mineral density.

On April 11th, the 4th Chinese Medicine Anti-aging Conference was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, which was jointly sponsored by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, China Anti-aging Promotion Association and China OTC Drug Association. At the meeting, Professor Bian Yuhong of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine gave an academic report entitled "Study on the Mechanism of Compound Chinese Medicine Inhibiting Bone Aging and Improving Skin Aging by Regulating Stem Cells", and shared the latest research progress of Bazi Bushen Capsule, an innovative Chinese medicine, in delaying osteoporosis and skin aging by regulating stem cells, which attracted wide attention of experts and scholars attending the meeting.

Professor Bian Yuhong from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine gave an academic report at the meeting.

Bian Yuhong said that the kidney is innate and runs through all aspects of human growth, strength, old age and self-sufficiency. With the increase of age, kidney essence is gradually consumed, which leads to the decline of physical function, showing physical decline, memory decline, hair whitening, osteoporosis and a series of aging phenomena. Before the beginning of the report, she specially reminded that many people think that tonifying the kidney is an aphrodisiac, but this is actually a misunderstanding. The essence of tonifying kidney in traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes more on regulating the functional state on the basis of the whole, maintaining the normal function of the five internal organs and keeping the body in a balanced state to delay the occurrence of diseases.

Bazi Bushen can increase bone density and strength and reshape "hard bones"

With the increase of age, especially after menopause, bones and muscles will be rapidly lost, which will easily lead to osteoporosis and weakness of waist and legs, so there are many cases of fractures caused by falls of the elderly in life. Many elderly people hope to relieve osteoporosis by supplementing calcium, but it is not enough. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the kidney governs the bone and the kidney essence is sufficient to better absorb calcium in the blood and deposit it on the bone; On the other hand, the deficiency of kidney essence will lead to the impairment of calcium reabsorption function of renal tubules and the increase of urinary calcium excretion, so it is necessary to replenish kidney essence while supplementing calcium.

Bian Yuhong pointed out that osteoporosis is a systemic bone disease characterized by low bone mass and damaged bone microstructure, which leads to increased bone fragility and prone to fracture, seriously endangering the health of middle-aged and elderly people, and the aging of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) is an important cause of osteoporosis. Traditional Chinese medicine does not have the name of senile osteoporosis, but according to its symptoms and pathogenesis, it can belong to the category of "bone flaccidity" and "bone arthralgia" "Bone collateral damage" is the key link of bone arthralgia. Osteoarthralgia is a disease that leads to kidney essence deficiency, bone collateral damage and bone marrow dystrophy for many reasons. In traditional Chinese medicine, the principle of tonifying kidney and replenishing essence is generally used to treat the kidney. Traditional Chinese medicine can regulate BMSCs’ influence on osteoporosis. It is found that Bazi Bushen Capsule can improve the contents of osteogenic protein and aging-related protein, and improve the imbalance of osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs, thus improving the bone density, bone mineral content, and the morphology and structure of trabecular bone in SAMP6 mice, and delaying the occurrence of osteoporosis.

Similarly, the research of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine confirmed that Bazi Bushen can significantly increase the mineral content in bones, thus improving the composition of bone materials. Compared with the aging group, the ultimate load of the bones of mice in the Bazi Bushen group increased by about 30%, indicating that Bazi Bushen can improve the bone strength. The research results were published in China Journal of Osteoporosis. Bazi Bushen is also listed as a recommended drug in the Guide to Diagnosis and Treatment of Diabetes Complicated with Osteoporosis.

The bones become strong, not only the physical strength is enhanced, but also the symptoms such as weakness of waist and knees are improved, and the risk of falling and fracture is also reduced.

Bazi Bushen can activate skin stem cells and enjoy a "youthful state"

Skin aging is often manifested as wrinkles, relaxation, spots, etc. The core cause of these problems is the loss of collagen, which is driven by both endogenous factors (such as insufficient collagen synthesis and accelerated degradation) and exogenous factors (such as photoaging induced by ultraviolet rays), which not only affects physical health, but also affects the overall mental state and negatively affects the psychological and social life of middle-aged and elderly people.

For skin aging, Bian Yuhong pointed out that it is mainly related to skin homeostasis, and the biomarker COL17A1 protein of epidermal stem cells plays an important role in skin homeostasis. Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine found that Bazi Bushen can improve the oxidative stress, apoptosis and autophagy of skin tissue, and interfere with epidermal stem cells to coordinate the skin homeostasis, obviously interfere with the thickness of dermal layer and collagen fiber content of experimental animals, and further improve the problems of skin aging and fur shedding.

It is reported that in the clinical evidence-based research conducted by Xiyuan Hospital of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in conjunction with eight clinical centers, China Key Laboratory of Light Industry Cosmetics of Beijing Technology and Business University also used the most advanced equipment in China to detect the skin and hair state of subjects. It was found that after taking bazi Bushen for three months, people’s hair loss and wrinkle depth were significantly improved, and their skin and hair were more shiny, which means that the medicine can protect the skin and improve people’s mental state as a whole.
