SAIC MG’s first new car next year will be equipped with semi-solid batteries with a comprehensive battery life of over 1,000 kilometers.

[Pacific Science and Technology News]Recently, Zhou Shuo, general manager of the MG brand division of SAIC, revealed on social media that the MG brand will launch a brand-new model next year, which will be equipped with semi-solid battery technology as standard and the price will be close to the people.

This upcoming new car will adopt advanced semi-solid battery technology. This battery has an energy density of more than 300Wh/kg, a battery life of more than 1,000 kilometers, and supports quasi-900V ultra-fast charging technology. The most striking thing is that the battery can add more than 400 kilometers of battery life to electric vehicles in just 12 minutes, which greatly alleviates consumers’ concerns about the endurance of pure electric vehicles.

The semi-solid battery adopts safer solid electrolyte, which ensures the ultra-high safety of the battery from the battery core level, and can realize the whole package of L0 without heat spread and fire. Zhou Shuo stressed that despite the advanced technology, the price of the new car is still very close to the people. This strategy will undoubtedly attract more consumers’ attention and further promote the popularization of new energy vehicles.

In addition to semi-solid battery technology, the new car will also be equipped with a new generation of DMH hybrid system of SAIC. The system has been applied in Roewe D7 DMH and Roewe D5DMH, and has been recognized by the market for its excellent performance and environmental protection characteristics.
