    "Big Time" is a TV drama that aired in 1992 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of TVB. It is set in the financial marekt of Hong Kong from the 1960s to the 1990s. Through two families and two generations of hatred, it shows the entanglement of fame, wealth and human nature. The drama not only created a ratings frenzy for a time, but also caused a peculiar "Ding Crab Effect", so it became a highly topical TVB drama and became the "King of Hong Kong Drama".

    The so-called "Ding Crab Effect" is also known as the "Autumn Official Effect", referring to the beginning of Zheng Shaoqiu’s role as Ding Crab in "The Big Times", all TV dramas and movies starring Zheng Shaoqiu have been broadcast, the Hang Seng Index or class A shares have fallen to varying degrees, and investors have suffered heavy losses. On April 20, 2015, the drama was rebroadcast on Hong Kong TVB. The average audience rating of the first episode was 5.6 points, and the highest audience rating of the first episode was 6.4 points.     According to the Hong Kong entertainment channel’s Weibo news, Wei Jiahui and Du Qifeng, who have just completed the film, have recently started to prepare the script for the movie version of "The Big Times". Du Qifeng has always liked to make financial and stock markets into movies. Du Sir also told the media that "The Big Times" is a shocking work on behalf of Hong Kong, and he is also willing to help participate in the future remake of the movie version.

 

    In terms of casting, the Shao family prefers to follow the drama version of the cast and invite Zheng Shaoqiu to play Ding Crab again, while the Emperor believes that a "movie coffee" such as the golden statue actor Liu Qingyun should be used as the male lead. Liu Qingyun played the male number two Fang Zhanbo in the drama version of "The Big Time". The heavy performance is a milestone on his early performance road. However, Liu Qingyun revealed that he has not yet received a definite invitation. The Emperor also intends to cast Lin Feng as the son of Ding Crab.
